The main uses of high carbon Ferrochrome Alloy
1. Alloy additives
High carbon ferrochrome plays an important role in the production of steel grades such as stainless steel, ball bearing steel, tool steel, nitriding steel, heat strengthened steel, quenched and tempered steel, carburizing steel, and hydrogen resistant steel. It can be used as an alloy additive to significantly improve the hardenability of steel, increase its wear resistance and hardness, thereby improving the overall performance of steel.
2. Cast iron additives
In the process of cast iron manufacturing, high carbon chromium iron can be used as an additive to help improve the hardness and wear resistance of cast iron, while enhancing its heat resistance.
3. Silicon chromium alloy raw materials
High carbon ferrochrome is still an important raw material for producing silicon chromium alloys, especially in the slag free production process.
4. Raw materials for electrolytic production of chromium metal
