What is safety glass?
Tempered or toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical strengthened to increase its strength compared with normal glass.
Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension.
Tempered glass is one of two kinds of safety glass regularly used in applications in which standard glass could pose a potential danger,which is manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it five times stronger than standard glass and does not break into sharp shards when it fails.
