STAINLESS STEEL PLATES
INFORMATION
Stainless steel plate is versatile and used in a variety of applications. It is primarily selected for its resistance to corrosion, longevity and form ability. Stainless steel plate and sheet differ in thickness and durability. Stainless steel plates provide more tensile strength and are used in heavy-duty applications. Stainless steel sheets are thinner, usually 6mm or less, and used for lightweight residential applications.
APPLICATIONS
Uses of stainless steel plate include structural and construction applications, pressure vessels, marine and offshore equipment,
general fabrication, transmission line towers and military applications.
GRADES
Two of the most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316. 304 and 304L are the most regularly used grades for stainless steel plates as they are less expensive, highly versatile, easily roll-formed or shaped and offer excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, while al…
