(More HDPE Particles and More HDPE plastic particles)
The formation of HDPE (high density polyethylene) plastic resin is achieved by polymerization. Polyethylene is a polymer composed of ethylene monomer molecules, and its polymerization reaction is a process by which the double bonds in the ethylene monomer molecules are opened and they are connected to a long chain molecule.
The polymerization reaction can be carried out by different methods, the most common of which is the use of catalysts. The catalyst can accelerate the polymerization and make it easier to form bonds between ethylene monomer molecules.
In the polymerization of HDPE, Ziegler-Natta catalyst is commonly used. Such catalysts are usually composed of metals (such as titanium or zinc) and organoaluminum compounds. The role of the catalyst is to open the double bonds on the ethylene monomer molecules and connect them to long chain molecules.(H…
