According to spindle orientation, CNC Automatic Turning Machine can be classified into two types: vertical and horizontal (Figure 1, Figure 2). Horizontal CNC Turning Center machining centers are equipped with indexing or CNC rotary tables that allow for multi-sided workpiece processing as well as coordinated motion for complex surface machining. Vertical machining centers lack a rotary table and are primarily used for top surface processing. Additionally, there are two compound machining centers with both vertical and horizontal spindles. The spindle can be adjusted to a horizontal or vertical axis on the vertically adjustable machining center, allowing for processing on five surfaces of the workpiece.
